This food forest design was for a backyard in Ligonier, PA. It features a mow-able grass pathway through mulched garden beds. The beds were planted after this photo was taken with berry shrubs, fruit trees and understory herbs. A challenge on this site included a low lying wet area in the yard. Elderberries were chosen to soak up this excess water and to provide an edible and medicinal plant.
